The Season 3 premiere is available on demand from June 17 until September 30, 2013, at Super Channel On Demand and online at RogersAnyplaceTV.com. (Season 2 will remain on demand until August 31.)
If anyone knows how to make alien attacks entertaining it’s Steven Spielberg, whose Falling Skies returns for a third season of post-invasion, post-apocalyptic mayhem. Spielberg is executive producer of the sci-fi series created by Robert Rodat, who wrote Saving Private Ryan.
Things pick up seven months after the events of season two, with Noah Wyle’s military historian turned guerilla fighter becoming leader of the resistance. He enlists a few familiar faces into his crusade to save what’s left of humanity. Wyle’s ER castmate Gloria Reuben joins the crew as one of his key aides, House’s Robert Sean Leonard pops up as an off-the-grid mad scientist called The Rat King, Stephen Collins (Star Trek: The Motion Picture) plays the president of the former United States, and Doug Jones (Hellboy’s Abe Sapien) is the leader of a group of rebel aliens.
But even as an alliance between the humans and the rebel aliens is forged, new threats emerge in the form of a possible mole from within the resistance, who’s feeding information to the insectoid intergalactic overlords. On top of which, another race of aliens decides to make a visit to the big blue marble. That’s right: it’s a second alien invasion!
