UFC 157: Available on Pay-Per-View: Channel 348 (HD) and Channel 350 (SD)

If the UFC still titled its pay-per-view events like Steven Seagal movies, UFC 158 would be called Unfinished Business. The card, which marks the UFC’s return to Montreal’s Bell Centre, promises to deliver one of the most anticipated welterweight bouts of the year as hometown hero Georges St-Pierre defends his title against Stockton bad boy Nick Diaz in the main event.

St-Pierre, the most dominant 170-pounder in the division’s history, is riding a 10-fight winning streak and is fresh off a November victory over interim champ Carlos Condit that unified the welterweight title. Diaz, meanwhile, is coming off a year-long suspension – he tested positive for marijuana following his loss to Condit in February 2012.

Of course, that’s only part of the fight’s soap opera backstory. Diaz, the former Strikeforce welterweight champ, was supposed to face GSP at UFC 137, but was yanked from the bout after he repeatedly failed to show up for pre-fight promotional duties. Diaz then fought – and beat – UFC legend BJ Penn, earning him a second chance at GSP’s belt, which slipped away when GSP injured his knee prior to UFC 143 and was sidelined for 18 months. Diaz then lost to Condit in the interim title fight, none of which has stopped him from getting under the skin of St-Pierre and trash-talking his way into a third shot at the title.

Much of the rest of the PPV card reads like a waiting list for the next crack at GSP’s crown. Title-hungry Johny Hendricks will look to cement his top-contender status when he squares off with Condit while newly minted welterweight Nate Marquardt makes his return to the UFC against Jake Ellenberger. Rounding out the main card are Nick Ring in a middleweight clash with Chris Camozzi while Mike Ricci meets fellow lightweight Colin Fletcher.
