Much like The Royal Tenenbaums and The Darjeeling Limited, Wes Anderson’s latest film possesses a deliriously giddy view of a world that’s kind of normal, but slightly askew. Set in 1965, a 12-year-old boy scout and his girlfriend decide they’re in love and head into the wilderness – pursued by police, parents, two scout troops and other representatives of the adult world. It’s a fragile and endearing coming-of-age fable, and a reminder of the lost innocence that still manages to exist within us. The cast includes Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Edward Norton, all of whom seem to be having just as much fun as the audience.
